Increasingly, individuals and communities are becoming aware of the relationship between quality of life and environmental literacy. The advent of Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) highlights the environment as a focus of study in an effort to relate to all students. Our programs at Clear Creek and Point Fermin Outdoor Education Centers as well as Day of Discovery field studies provide authentic educational experiences that create a personal relevance to an otherwise abstract subject matter.

In alignment with current neuroscientific research and Culturally Relevant and Responsive Pedagogy; students are provided real world field studies at our outdoor education centers. High academic rigor, excellent instructional practice and a deliberately executed human relations and team building curriculum will lead to the expected outcome… creating an emotional connection to learning and the outdoors.

All instruction is student centered with a focus on implementation of Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), Environmental Principles and Concepts (Adopted by CA Department of Education) and NASA GLOBE (Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment) protocols.
