GREAT OUTDOOR (G.O.)
SCIENCE PROGRAM AT CLEAR CREEK
CLEAR CREEK 16.png

The Great Outdoor (G.O.) Science Program at Clear Creek Outdoor Education Center is an immersive, hands-on experience inspiring students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. The program is operated by Los Angeles Unified School District. Founded in 1926, the site is located in the Angeles National Forest.

  • Night Sky Study curriculum and experience was developed in collaboration with the Aero Institute and NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center. The observatory, equipped with high power telescopes, offers the opportunity to view Saturn’s rings and see far off nebula that are light years away.

  • Riparian Eco-System Field Study takes advantage of on-site creeks. Earth’s natural systems and the effects of human interaction are closely examined using scientific and engineering methods to understand our interdependent relationship with the natural world. This curriculum was created with the support of UCLA Center X.
